Which Canadian city do you belong in?

October 27th, 2010

Gregory got St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

The oldest city and most easterly part of North America, St. John’s is a small city with all of the charm of a small town. Culturally and historically unique , there is lots to see and do in this city, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s one big museum. St. John’s George Street is one of the best places to party on a Saturday night. Music and theatre is as abundant here as any big city in Canada.

The people are friendly, the food is delicious, and there are pristine natural sights all around, from campgrounds to icebergs.

The Avalon Peninsula was recently ranked as the number one coastal destination in the world. Not Canada. Not North America. The World. Thanks National Geographic.

Also, I didn’t need an app to tell me I belong here!

We’ve found a witch – may we burn her?

October 21st, 2010

Back in 1999 Christine O’Donnell, a electoral candidate in the state of Deleware, said some very unusual things on the Bill Maher show.

Bill Maher recently revived those videos in an effort to lure O’Donnell onto his show.

“I dabbled in Witchcraft” she said as she explained her date with a man which led to a picnic on a satanic alter.

Political advisors have stressed that she must address his issue. Her best solution was this ad.

Gregory Brother -- I’m Not A Witch Remix

Funny as it is on its own, The Gregory Brothers always have creativity enough to step it up a notch.

Which was also covered by Roomie.

We can put all this to rest by seeing if she weighs the same as a duck.

Dark Side of Goldeneye

September 23rd, 2010

The Dark Side of Goldeneye from Gregory Pike on Vimeo.

Video track of the intro to Goldeneye.
Audio track of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service by Propellerheads

The Dark Side of the Oz (aka the Dark Side of the Rainbow) is a popular and bizarre combination of the video of The Wizard of Oz and the audio of the unrelated Pink Floyd album Dark Side of the Moon.

The Dark Side of Goldeneye is much the same except featuring the intro to the James Bond movie Goldeneye and the song On Her Majesty’s Secret Service by Propellerheads

I discovered this back in high school shortly after buying the album Decksanddrumsandrockandroll by Propellerheads.

I was listening through the album when On Her Majesty’s Secret Service came on. As I listened to the song I felt a sudden urge to watch a Bond movie. It was the song. It had the feel of the Bond movie.

To this point I was still unaware that the title of the track was On Her Majesty’s Service Service.

I decided to grab my favorite Bond movie, Goldeneye, on VHS and pop it into my VCR.

This was all after having seen Dark Side of the Moon for the first time recently, so the idea was fresh in my mind.

For fun I hit the play button on my CD player just as the movie was starting. Not expecting much I was pleasantly surprised and immediately shared it with my friends.

Now I am sharing it with you.

History as told through Facebook Statuses

I’ve never enjoyed reading mountains of textbooks for things that could easily be summed up into short Facebook statuses.
